Hole 8

Hole #8

The number one handicap hole rating is very appropriate for this long dogleg left par 4.  The golfer who wishes to cut off some of the dogleg with a right to left tee shot must avoid the over-hanging tree branches guarding the left side and the pine trees just left of the fairway near the dogleg.  Right of the fairway is no bargain either with a solid tree lined rough and a well placed large tree guarding the right side of the fairway at the dogleg.  A good drive will leave the golfer with at least a mid to long iron or hybrid to a small green that is very narrow at the front making run up shots most difficult. In addition, the green slopes from front to back with even the best of shots running through the green.  Errant approach shots left or long may just find a lateral hazard.  Balls short and left always seem to find the narrow and very deep bunker guarding the approach to the green.  Sometimes walking away with a bogey five is not so bad here!
